Terps: The Right Road of Rebuilding
Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward
The Maryland Terrapins came into this season with tempered expectations. With the hiring of new coach, Mark Turgeon, it was known before the season that it would be a rebuilding year. It’s a fairly young team with a new coach and athletic director aboard.
So far, the Terrapins have been competitive but have struggled to a 13-9 record and a 3-5 record in the ACC which ranks them seventh. For the most part, the Terrapins have been competitive riding the play of Terrell Stoglin who is their leading scorer with a 22 pointers per game clip. Unfortunately for the Terrapins, their offense outside of Stoglin has been a major issue and that has hurt them late in games this year. They rank near the bottom of the ACC in the majority of offensive categories, including being last in the conference in free throw shooting.
While its been a struggle for the Terps, there have been bright spots. Consider Stoglin and C Alex Len. Hopefully the team looks at this season as a building block going forward.
