In collaboration with D.C. Public Library and the United States Navy Band, enjoy a variety of original music for woodwind quintet as well as some fun arrangements of Patriotic and Americana selections from composers, John Philip Sousa (a native Washingtonian) and Robert Washburn (Air Force veteran). This special concert is being presented in honor of the nation’s veterans past and present and will be held in the new 291 seat auditorium of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, the main library for Washington, DC
Formed in 1985, the Navy Band Woodwind Quintet maintains a varied repertoire dating from the 18th to the 20th centuries. The quintet includes Musicians 1st Class Allison Fletcher, flute; Joshua Arvizu , oboe; Tyler Worosello, clarinet; Chief Musician Jennifer Stokes, bassoon; and Musician 1st Class Nathaniel Willson, horn.
The Woodwind Quintet presents recitals at concert halls, churches, libraries, museums and parks throughout the National Capital Region. They frequently participate in the Navy Band's Music in the Schools program, demonstrating instruments for elementary and secondary school students. Woodwind quintet members are often featured soloists with the Navy Concert Band.
