Council Members joined Dr. Wright and other hospital executives, as well as the construction team, for a tour that began on the roof (where two helipads are located). The tour also included views of the atrium, patient rooms, operating room, labor and delivery, and the emergency room. The new hospital is expected to open on schedule, in the spring of 2021. Council members in attendance included Council Chair Todd Turner, Council Vice-Chair Rodney Streeter, Council Member Jolene Ivey, and Council Member Dannielle Glaros. The 26-acre property is located at the Arena Drive exit off of 495 at the Largo Town Center.
The estimated cost of the project is $543 Million. The Council, meeting as the County’s Board of Health, will receive a detailed update on the new hospital Nov. 12 at 2:00 p.m.
