Inspired by Walt Whitman’s love letter to Peter Doyle we will look at the art and form of epistolary poems. The art of poetic letter writing. Like Whitman, we will seize objects in nature and those that are man made to write where we are and commune with a lost lover, pal and object.

Bring a notebook to write in. This workshop is open to all adults 18 and up for all levels.

This is part of the multi-venue, 12-day Walt Whitman 200 Festival, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of America’s most significant and enduring poets, who was a resident of Washington, DC for ten years during and after the Civil War.
